ABOUT KRISTINA
Kristina’s artistic journey began at an early age, when she first fell in love with drawing. That early curiosity was deepened through her first formal oil painting class, where she discovered a lasting passion for the medium. From that point forward, art became a constant thread in her life—one shaped and strengthened through continued education.
While balancing family life and a professional career, Kristina remained deeply committed to developing her artistic skills. She pursued ongoing training through a wide range of respected institutions, including the University of Wisconsin, Mesa Art Center, Scottsdale Artists’ School, and the Madeline Island School of the Arts. These courses and retreats allowed her to study with accomplished instructors, explore diverse techniques, and refine her voice as an artist.
In 2023, Kristina chose to further formalize and deepen her education by enrolling in the Milan Art Mastery Program, a pivotal step that supported her transition toward a professional art practice. This immersive training marked a turning point, allowing her to devote focused time and study to her craft and elevate her work to a new level.
Today, Kristina continues to apply the foundations of her education in her rural Wisconsin studio, where disciplined study and creative exploration intersect. Her work reflects years of intentional learning, practice, and a lifelong commitment to artistic growth.
When not painting, Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry, and their three dogs—Sailor, Madison, and Rocket.
Behind the Art
Nature is a central influence in Kristina’s work, inspiring not only her color palette but also the way she builds depth, texture, and movement within each piece. She is drawn to the intricate beauty found in the natural world—the way light reveals layers, the contrast between softness and structure, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed at first glance.
Kristina’s process is intentionally layered, both physically and conceptually. She begins with thinner, fluid materials such as inks and spray paint, allowing them to move organically across the surface and establish an atmospheric foundation. From there, she gradually builds complexity by incorporating gel mediums and acrylic paint, creating areas of texture and dimension. Each layer is thoughtfully applied, partially obscured, and revealed again, before her work is finished with oil paint—bringing cohesion, richness, and subtle luminosity to the composition.
This layering allows hidden elements to emerge over time. From a distance, the viewer is greeted with a harmonious and balanced composition. Up close, however, the surface reveals unexpected details—subtle marks, colors, and textures tucked beneath the top layers like quiet “easter eggs.” These discoveries invite prolonged engagement, offering hours of enjoyment whether the artwork is viewed from across a room or examined intimately.
Through her art, Kristina hopes to spark a sense of joy and curiosity, encouraging viewers to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the abundant beauty found not only in her work, but in life itself.
